We are so sad to announce that Santa Rosa Junior College has decided to place Summer Rep on hiatus for the foreseeable future. The college has stated its desire to resume some form of summer theatre offerings, but nothing concrete has been discussed at this time.
It has been our pleasure to provide high quality training for students and professional productions for our patrons for the past 51 years.
Who We Are
Summer Repertory Theatre Festival is a professional summer-stock company that produces a dynamic season of plays and musicals in repertory in the heart of the Sonoma County wine country. At Summer Rep, we magically transform ourselves and our theatres so that you have an extraordinary theatre experience over the course of our season.
In operation since 1972, Summer Rep is renowned for offering advanced training for young theatre artists from around the country. We prepare students for careers onstage and behind the scenes on Broadway, with National tours and in film and television.
Training
Since 1972, Summer Rep Theatre Festival has enrolled over 9000 students as actors, technicians and musicians, who have received advanced training important to their career goals as teachers, actors, designers, directors, technicians, costumers and managers. These students have gone on to employment with major schools, in the television and movie industry, and in theatres across the nation.
Summer Rep interns are fully immersed in a hands-on experience from their first day through the end of the season. We pride ourselves on maintaining excellent production values, and a positive and supportive work environment.
Passionate students from around the country create an ensemble of actors, technicians, costumers, production assistants, and musicians. Led by a staff of highly trained artists and managers, this ensemble mounts 4 productions performed in repertory – averaging 40-60 performances in just 8 weeks!
Interns receive fully paid tuition, cash scholarships and housing.
